API CK-4 is the API category for high-speed four-stroke diesel engines designed to meet 2017 on-highway emission standards, and is backward-compatible with CJ-4, CI-4 and CH-4. ACEA E9/E7 are the European categories for heavy-duty diesel engines. The API SN rating also covers petrol engines. Use where the vehicle handbook specifies API CK-4 / ACEA E9 at SAE 10W-40.
