Application

API GL-5 is the API service designation for hypoid gears in axles and differentials operating under high-speed, shock-load and high-torque conditions. Use where the vehicle handbook specifies API GL-5 at SAE 80W-140. Check the handbook before using it in a manual gearbox that specifies API GL-4.
